Latest update from Advertising: Who Cares?

First, welcome to all of our new supporters. We are now over 600 in number, with new people joining pretty well every day. We have supporters in all of the major ad markets, and from all sides of the industry.

Next, we want to introduce you to our podcast series, produced by our friends The Drum. Link here https://www.thedrum.com/podcast/series/advertising-who-cares. We have recorded seven in the series; the first three have now been released. These feature:

– Steven Antoniewicz from The Drum introduced the series by discussing the AWC movement, how it started and its ambitions with Brian Jacobs and Nick Manning

– Lucy Jameson (Founder, Uncommon Studio) in conversation with Brian Jacobs on the future of creativity in the age of AI.

– Sally Weavers (Founder, Craft London) in conversation with Brian on comms planning.

New episodes drop every Tuesday morning London time and will be flagged on our Linkedin page Advertising: Who Cares?. Please do follow it; and do check it out regularly for news and articles.

Next, the website was due a refresh and has duly received one courtesy of Graeme Blake and his team at Blutui®. The new site is up now at www.advertisingwhocares.org; it will be updated regularly, especially with event news.

Event News. We are pleased to announce the second Advertising: Who Cares? event will be held on OCTOBER 16TH in London at the VUE WEST END. This is a 270-seater cinema right on Leicester Square. We are very grateful to Karen Stacey and her team at DCM for having us. The event will be all day, from 9.15am to 5.15pm (including lunch) and will focus on the work being undertaken now by the workstreams, along with a ‘special guests’ session. We want this to be a highly interactive affair – any spare time will be spent discussing the issues raised by the workstreams with the audience, so it is important to be there to have your say.

We are working on pricing – we are planning on there being discounted seats on offer to supporters.

More details on the event very soon.

Meantime, thank you for your continued support. We are always keen to attract more support – and supporters can be anonymous should they choose to be so. Do please spread the word amongst your own networks. Caspia’s Pam Vick will be leading the “Funding Quality Media” workstream.
